Before the visit, vacuum every room, including under furniture, and empty the vacuum bag or canister into an outside bin. Wash pet bedding and throws in hot water. Have your vet treat your pets at around the same time, or they will carry new fleas back inside. Stay off floors until they are dry, then keep vacuuming daily for two weeks. The vibration brings pupae out of their cocoons and onto the treated surface.
